[STMicroelectronics NFC Evaluation] Getting to Know ST25DV Discovery Kit-Breadboard Community

I participated in the NFC seminar held by ST last year. I was very interested in the application of NFC in the field of system upgrade without opening the box. I happened to meet the breadboard community.

First look at the original packaging of the evaluation board, the familiar packaging style.

The ST25DV Discovery kit evaluation kit consists of 2 sub-motherboards. The 2 boards are connected by a single-row 14-core 2.54mm pin header. The left side is the motherboard with the display, and the right side is the sub-board. The front and back are shown in the figure below :

There are application notes, drivers, BOM tables, schematic diagrams, gerber files, firmware, etc. supporting the ST25DV Discovery evaluation board. With these materials, the development efficiency of users can be greatly improved.

The ST25DV Discovery motherboard is equipped with a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 core high-performance MCU with FPU, which allows users to understand all the features of the ST25DV series dynamic NFC tag chip ST25DV04K.The hardware layout diagram of the board is shown below:

Its main characteristics are as follows:

• 32-bit MCU STM32F405VGT6 in LQFP100 package, with 1M Flash,

• 320X200 color LCD and touch screen

• User button and reset button

• Onboard ST-Link, convenient for firmware upgrade and software debugging

The on-board ST-Link of this motherboard still uses the STM32F103, but unfortunately it does not use the traditional V-cut method, so it cannot be used as a separate debug downloader.

The hardware layout of the ST25DV Discovery daughter board is as follows:

Its main characteristics are as follows:

• Dynamic NFC tag IC ST25DV04K with 512Byte EEPROM

The mother-daughter board adopts a single-row 14-core 2.54mm needle socket connection mode, and the interface definition is shown in the figure below:

As the protagonist of the ST25DV Discovery evaluation board, the ST25DV04K IC, its main features are as follows:

• Non-contact interface based on ISO/IEC15693

    • 512Byte EEPROM

• Fast data transfer between IIC and RF interface

• Energy harvesting to power external components via analog pins

This set of evaluation boards is used to evaluate the ST25DV04K IC, which should be very perfect. The next article will power on and test the specific functions of this set of boards.
